A determined crew and a big rural challenge
In Denmark, surrounded by tall trees and rolling country, John set out to build a structure that would stand strong, fit the land and protect his orchard for years to come. It was January 2024 when he and his crew, all in their early sixties, decided to take on a 14.5m by 8.5m by 3.5m Crackpots EZBuild orchard. They arrived with shovels, determination and a plan that relied more on grit than machinery.
The build became a rural triumph. Every trench and post hole was dug by hand. Every step was measured, paced and completed with care. The team worked steadily, proving that experience and teamwork can achieve what heavy equipment sometimes cannot. In just two and a half days, the structure was standing tall.
Solving a tricky wire placement with local ingenuity
The property presented a challenge near the gate where space was tight. The usual restraining wire could not be installed without interfering with access. Instead of compromising the structure, John and his crew came up with a clever solution that suited the environment perfectly.
They cut peppermint poles from the bush and used them to brace the structure horizontally. The poles created a natural, sturdy support system that replaced the missing wire and blended seamlessly into the rural surroundings. It was a practical fix that showed how adaptable the EZBuild orchard can be when paired with local knowledge and a bit of creativity.
Sixteen months later, the peppermint pole bracing is still holding strong. The structure remains straight, secure and visually sharp, proving that thoughtful improvisation can be just as effective as standard installation.
